The 5th Annual LaHave Folk Festival


September 5th  2010 at the Fort Point Museum 1PM – 10PM
$20.00 per person or family pass $50.00
 
Tickets available at the gate or may be pre-purchased from the Fort Point Museum and other locations such as Townsends Strings and Things in Bridgewater.
 
The Festival has put together a line up of wonderful talent again this year. Come and enjoy Jamie Junger Band, The Hupman Brothers, Heather Kelday, Mike Trask, Darren Arsenault, Shirley Jackson and the Sidecats, Nick Jeffrey, Jazzette, Ariana and Andy, Mike Aube, Naming the Twins, Collage, Cut, Split and Delivered, and many more. Take home some of this great music, CD’s will be available for sale at the festival booth on site.
 
The Fort Point Museum in beautiful LaHave on the banks of Dublin Bay and the LaHave river provides the perfect location for this annual outdoor event. Bring your favorite family and friends, and enjoy a fabulous day of fine Canadian talent.
 
Many festival supporters like to bring their own beach or lawn chairs. Overflow parking will be available at the Fire Hall on School Rd. A shuttle service will be provided. This years menu includes pulled pork on toasted buns, corn on the cob, barbecued sausages,hamburgers and hotdog's, and cold sandwiches and lots of liquid refreshments.

LAHAVE FOLK FESTIVAL PRESENTS….SONGWRITERS CIRCLE WITH DARREN ARSENAULT, HEATHER KELDAY, MEGAN LICKLEY, EMILY WEST
FORT POINT MUSEUM – LAHAVE 
2-4pm, $10 Admission

HEATHER KELDAY, originally from Toronto – calls the Gaspereau valley home –and is celebrating with new creative works content rich with local culture including songs of tubing down the Gaspereau, dial- up internet and the arrival of her son- Arlo. 

MEGAN LICKLEY, a Sudbury gal with a cross –generational connection to Wolfville and 4 years at Acadia, is now en route to new destinations including the launch of her first album this July. Her sweet voice, multi-instrumental talents and gifted songwriting will be a pleasure for all to hear. 

EMILY WEST, Hailing from Cochrane, Alberta and with 4 years at Acadia U. Emily is fully embarked on a twenty something's journey of self discovery, guitar and notebook in hand. With a voice that is at once angelic and spirited, kind but also capable of great depth, she sings about the peaks and valleys of her mountain home, the misery of an empty gun, all the while making you feel less alone in your own moments of joy and sadness.
